Village Voice
The Village Voice is a community newspaper produced by Shavington Village Festival Committee. The Village Voice was first published in October 1981 as a means for local charities, organisations and individuals to advertise their activities to a large number of people. It is distributed four times a year by a team of unpaid volunteers, who deliver between 50 and 100 copies to their immediate local area; many of these volunteers have been delivering the Village Voice ever since it started. It has been edited since October 1986 by Adrian Hancock.

The printing of the Village Voice is paid for by advertising revenue, though over the years it has had to be subsidised on occasions by the Festival Committee; it receives no funding from any other source, and is independent of any local councils. The advertisers are mainly small local businesses and individuals who are able to provide a service to the people of Shavington.
